Pothole repairs begin on the Acapulco-Zihuatanejo highway

The Ministry of Infrastructure, Communications and Transport (SICT) began repairing potholes on the Acapulco-Zihuatanejo federal highway, as part of the “Bachetón” program announced by the president of Mexico, Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo.

The work began on Thursday, November 21 in the municipality of Tecpan de Galeana, specifically in the town of Aguas Blancas; the repairs are progressing towards the municipality of Benito Juárez, where one of the sections most affected by the deterioration is located.

The rehabilitation of this road, vital for connectivity in the Costa Grande region, seeks to improve traffic conditions and guarantee road safety.

It is expected that in the coming days the work will be extended to the other municipalities in the region, addressing a priority demand of the citizens who use this road.
