The 7 Wonders, House of Experiences and Mazacircus held a circus show with a cause with the aim of raising funds to benefit the Mazatlán Refuge.
The event consisted of an interactive tour with the participation of circus artists distributed on the three floors of the building; in addition, fair snacks such as popcorn, churros, kekis, hot dogs, among others, were offered, as well as shots and drinks with a specialty of mojitos.
Among the artists there were clowns, mimes, acrobats, jugglers and a strongman and also a flamethrower.
The main benefactors were people from the foreign community residing in Mazatlán, who enjoyed the show and the coexistence.
About the Mazatlán Refuge
The Mazatlán Refuge was founded in 2016 by a North American couple with the interest of helping low-income children through education.
“It’s a boarding school, they go to middle school, high school, we have academic assistants, we have math volunteers, we have a doctor, we have a psychologist, we have a cook, they have everything to get ahead,” said José Beremundo Soto, director of the center.
Most of its funding comes from donations and events with a cause like this one.
“Since most of our volunteers and donors are foreigners, we celebrate Patrick Day and there we have this big event where they go and donate for the kids as well,” he said.
The residents of the Mazatlán Shelter are teenagers from 12 to 18 years old, but the age limit for admission is up to 13 so they can have a complete education; most are from dysfunctional families or in vulnerable situations.
