According to Drew Binsky, Mexico City is in the top 100 best cities in the world. This blogger, who boasts of having visited every country in the world, has dedicated several of his videos to highlighting the cultural and gastronomic richness of Mexico.
In a short Instagram video, Drew Binsky caused a stir by making a list of the best cities in the world. The video he published on November 7 has more than three million views (3 M), at the time of publication of this note (Monday, November 25), and with more than twenty-eight thousand comments debating the presence or absence of some cities.
Why is Mexico City among the best cities in the world?
For blogger Drew Binsky, Mexico City occupies the fourth place of the best cities in the world in a list of 100 cities. It is even before Los Angeles, Amsterdam, Buenos Aires and Miami, to name a few.
But what makes Mexico City special according to Drew Binsky? In another Youtube video, titled “Exploring the Most Underrated Country in the World!”, the content creator and traveler from the United States, highlighted several regions of Mexico, including CDMX, since, in his words:
“The great Mexico City is one of the largest and oldest cities in the world. [It stands out] for its colonial architecture, iconic works of art, spicy cuisine, colorful streets and its rich ancestral culture.
It is full of things to do, food to try, people to meet, within this cosmopolitan city that is wrapped in the charm of its colonial past.”
Among other aspects, such as food: “Mexico City is quickly becoming one of my favorite food destinations in the world,” said Drew Binksy, also highlighting how cheap the city is by spending $10 on various items and food.
Is Mexico City cheap?
Although CDMX is not part of another top list by the same blogger in which he compiles the cheapest cities in the world, in the video he does highlight how affordable the capital is for him.
However, this assessment is based on the comparison of the peso against the dollar, which, in turn, is one of the factors that has contributed to CDMX being one of the most expensive places to live.
In the most recent National Survey on Financial Health (ENSAFI) 2023 alone, it was revealed that people living in CDMX require a monthly income of $29,500 pesos to cover their basic expenses.
