Oaxaca is nominated for the 2024 Food and Travel Reader Awards, which honor Mexico’s favorite chefs, restaurants, and destinations, as well as places around the world.
Puerto Escondido is nominated for Best Destination in Mexico and Oaxaca for Best Gastronomic Destination in Mexico, as well as restaurants, hotels, and tourist experiences.
Some businesses such as Crudo, a restaurant included in the 2024 Michelin Guide, was nominated for Best Restaurant in the Interior of the Republic, while Casa Oaxaca El Restaurante, also in the 2024 Michelin Guide, received the nomination for Best Consolidated Restaurant in Mexico.

As Best Sustainable Restaurant in Mexico, the following are nominated: Alfonsina – a restaurant with the Michelin Bib Gourmand, which is a recognition from the Michelin guide – and Levadura de Olla – with One Michelin Star.
In the category of Best Urban Hotel in Mexico, Otro Oaxaca is in the running; in the category of Best Boutique Beach Hotel, Ennea from Puerto Escondido is nominated; and in the category of Best Socially Responsible Tourism, Camino Copalita is nominated.
The awards include 31 categories: 13 in gastronomy and 18 in tourism, and the candidates were chosen by a panel of 63 experts in the hospitality industry, together with the editorial board of Food and Travel Mexico.
