The North American Development Bank is working with the state government to develop growth plans in San Quintín and San Felipe, to define priority projects, said Roberto Molina Acevedo, associate director of financial organization.
He mentioned that the work is being done in collaboration with the Secretariat of Economy and Innovation (SEI) of Baja California.

“In terms of the definition and prioritization of the most important projects to strengthen the new municipalities, it is one of the most important projects,” he said.
He indicated that they already held a meeting with the communities of both municipalities, where a list of projects of greater attention was defined, such as water, paving, among others.
“Through this list, a proposal will be made on how we are going to scale up the sustainability of these municipalities,” added Molina Acevedo.
Regarding the financing for these projects, he pointed out that the Sustainable Bond resource, requested by the state government and focused on water issues, could be used, however it can include various sustainability axes, such as mobility, agriculture, among others.
“It is possible that there will be a second part, I am not sure that there could be another bond or a second part (…) A sustainability framework was formalized, that gives us the option that in the future resources can be applied in other parts besides water,” he said.
Molina Acevedo stressed that one of the main axes with which they have collaborated with the state government, is related to water sanitation, which in the entity is being carried out on both sides of the border.
Another of the projects in which the Bank of North America is collaborating in Tijuana is work to speed up border crossings at the Otay checkpoint, in the area of mobility, they participate in the Agua Caliente Corridor with the acquisition of trucks and bus stops, among others.
