According to the Urban Competitiveness Index carried out by the Mexican Institute for Competitiveness (IMCO), it was reported that the state is again in first place out of 66 cities that has the lowest rate of acts of corruption.
However, it is noteworthy that 68.4 percent of people over 18 years of age considered that corrupt practices in the capital are frequent, despite this considerable figure, it is the best score compared to other cities.
Querétaro occupied the first position in the category of Political Systems and Government, where local institutions and their strength are analyzed, where in the category of perception of corruption it was the best evaluated; but in other areas such as the generation of own income it was placed in fourth position with 61.7 of its resources on its own account.
Likewise, the IMCO placed the state in second place in the category of Innovation and Technology, and in the subcategory of Economic Diversification it is in 5th place, with 812 economic sectors present in the Querétaro territory.
Regarding Research Centers, it is placed in eleventh position, since there are 2.6 of these for every 100 thousand members of the Economically Active Population; but it is also recorded that in terms of the Energy Intensity of Technology, it is known that there are 5,433 kilowatts per hour, that is, per year for every million of economic activity.
However, in one of the aspects in which the state of Querétaro was evaluated the worst was in the category of Vehicle Theft, which out of 66 positions was placed in penultimate place, with 65 of every thousand vehicles being stolen.
