This beginning of December, characterized by cold weather and other circumstances, has brought little news in the prices of the basic basket in Nuevo León. According to the merchants of the central supply, the basic products have remained stable, with minimal variations that oscillate between two and five pesos.
Avocados, both Hass and Super, continue to be among the most expensive products, remaining above 100 pesos per kilo. On the other hand, chayote remains at 35 pesos, while lemon showed a slight reduction of five pesos, remaining at 30 pesos per kilo. Potatoes, like parsley and epazote, have not shown changes, costing 35 pesos per kilo and 15 pesos per bunch, respectively.
Purple onion has reached 55 pesos per kilo, and stuffed chili maintains a price of 65 pesos per kilo. Other products such as carrots, pumpkins and tomatillos are at 25, 45 and 38 pesos per kilo, respectively, although the latter registered an increase of two pesos. White onions continue to cost 38 pesos, while round tomatoes remain at 55 pesos and serrano peppers at 42 pesos per kilo.
In the case of fruits, some have shown a decrease in their prices, as is the case of strawberries and raspberries, which went from 85 to 65 pesos per basket, with 2×100 promotions in various places. Tangerines maintain their price of 38 pesos per kilo, pineapple rose slightly to 45 pesos, and bananas continue to be one of the cheapest options with a price of 20 pesos per kilo. Papaya is at 48 pesos per kilo, while oranges, ideal for the season, cost 38 pesos.
For its part, the large egg tapa fluctuates between 100 and 120 pesos, depending on the establishment. As for proteins, the prices of chicken and meat have not changed. The chicken Milanese remains at 130 pesos per kilo, the breast and fajita at 100 pesos, and pieces such as leg and thigh, drumstick and thigh only fluctuate between 35 and 38 pesos per kilo. The vampire wing has a price of 55 pesos.
In beef, the steak and the sirloin cost 163 pesos per kilo, the shank 153 pesos and the loaded rib 145 pesos. Other cuts such as the cooked and the brisket with arrow are at 137 pesos, while the skirt to shred is at 198 pesos per kilo. Ground meats are more affordable, with commercial ground meat at 68 pesos and 80/20 at 74 pesos.
Finally, the price of tortillas remains at 28 pesos per kilo, thus closing a weekend with mostly stable prices for basic basket products.
