The problem of disappearances in Baja California Sur continues to be an alarming issue for the population and the authorities. According to data from the National Registry of Missing and Unlocated Persons (RNPDNO), between January and November 2024, 419 reports related to disappearances, non-locations and locations were registered in the state.

Of the total number of cases, 243 correspond to men and 176 to women. To date, 330 people have been located, of which 14 were found dead. However, 89 people remain missing, a situation that could be linked to the commission of crimes. These data underscore the urgency of strengthening search and prevention strategies in the state.

Regarding the distribution by municipalities, Los Cabos leads with 192 cases, followed by La Paz with 188. Comondú registered 16 reports, Mulegé 13 and Loreto 8, while in two cases the location was not specified. The municipalities of Los Cabos and La Paz concentrate 90% of the reports in the state, positioning themselves as the areas of greatest concern.

Faced with this reality, the relatives of the missing persons continue to demand answers and justice from the South California authorities. They request greater institutional support for the effective search for their loved ones and the acceleration of investigations, with the aim of clarifying the cases and providing certainty to the affected families.
