Do you like winter weather? If the answer is “yes,” you should know that Jalisco is one of the states with the most pleasant climate in Mexico, since it does not usually record high temperatures as they do in the southeast or the north during spring and summer, but neither do they drop extremely as it also happens in the north during winter; in general, minimum temperatures can be 5 to 10 degrees in cold seasons, and in hot seasons they do not always exceed 40 degrees.
During winter in Jalisco, when thermometers drop due to the entry of cold fronts or winter storms, you are sure to wonder which are the places with the coldest weather during the last season of the year, which is three weeks away from starting.
While it is true that in the collective memory of the people of Jalisco there is the memory that on December 13, 1997 the lowest temperature was recorded so far, with -7 degrees Celsius and a snowfall in several municipalities including those of the Guadalajara Metropolitan Zone (ZMG), you should know that this was due to the presence of a strong “El Niño” phenomenon.
However, there are municipalities where freezing temperatures are recorded, although the days are not so frequent.

In all these municipalities there are no snowfalls, however, although they have occurred, it is most likely that frosts will occur during the winter, although they are not common.
The only place where snow falls in Jalisco is on the Nevado de Colima volcano, although this has to do with the altitude, which is over 4,000 meters above sea level. There also have to be conditions for this meteorological phenomenon to occur.
The cold municipalities that we already mentioned are located in the Altos region, where thermometers can register temperatures below zero degrees Celsius.
