Pátzcuaro, one of the most emblematic places in Mexico, is one step away from being recognized as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. This is obviously happening at an unbeatable time for the fourth transformation project headed by Claudia Sheinbaum. She, of course, has been a promoter of culture and all those aspects that, naturally, put Mexico’s name very high. With this appreciation from the head of state, the state and municipal authorities, with the coordination of international organizations, will do justice to a territory that, due to its beauty, deserves the award from other latitudes. This is only possible with the effort and dedication of those who are in charge of the institutions, especially to face this task and, with it, pave the way for favorable conditions.
Of course, this implies a great responsibility and dedication, so, as Michoacans, we are proud to note the scope of the historical and tourist universe of one of the most representative municipalities of the state, such as Pátzcuaro, which, by the way, is the main and most attractive focus for tourists not only national, but international. For this reason, the region continues to obtain very high levels that, both in economic aspects and in social development, constitute a powerful driver. In fact, it receives numerous monthly visits, on any day and period of the week. Thus, it is too much good news for those of us who inhabit these beautiful lands that, in themselves, are a fundamental part of the democratic struggle of the national territory.
Therefore, this great merit promoted by the current local authorities has managed to acquire considerable relevance at a global level, since it has become a crucial element, especially in terms of hospitality, which is essential in the indicators that value the institutions. This was the example of Forbes magazine, which a few months ago collected the opinions of hundreds of users. In short, the impression was very favorable and, in a list of the most welcoming and hospitable places in the country, Pátzcuaro ranked number seven in the list of favorite spots, which allowed it to appear in those spaces due to its cultural link.
For this reason, there are adequate reasons to highlight an event of this kind that has never been seen before. Not all municipalities have the particularities that Pátzcuaro has. On the one hand, its abundant colonial heritage and its immense cuisine are other charms that attract the attention of those who visit it. In fact, this element leads us to think that this characteristic was one of the relevant factors for Forbes magazine to put its interest in Michoacán.
This happens because, in that municipality, things are progressing quite well, especially it is a very favorable place for investment. In reality, we cannot ignore the evaluations that have been revealed by the same polling firms in the last two months. In that category, Julio Arreola, mayor of Pátzcuaro, appears on the list of the 50 most outstanding mayors in Mexico.
