Blockage on the Mexico-Pachuca highway creates traffic chaos

Heavy road traffic is registered this Monday, December 9, on the Mexico-Pachuca highway at the height of El Vigilante, in Ecatepec, State of Mexico, where truckers and workers are demonstrating to demand non-payment for their services provided in the construction of the Mayan Train.

According to the protesters, the debts amount to 90 million pesos, therefore, the movement organized by Transportistas Unidos, seeks to pressure the federal government to settle the pending payments for the transfer of basalt rocks, essential for the work.

Blockade on the Mexico-Querétaro

A blockade is also registered on the Mexico-Querétaro highway, where protesters demand the same and affect the roads as a way of putting pressure on the authorities.

The road closures are concentrated in both directions and affect both private motorists and public transport.
Motorists are recommended to take alternate routes and stay informed about the development of the situation. Authorities are working on dialogue with protesters to clear the road as soon as possible.
