By 2025, Dongfeng will seek to position itself in the Mexican market against 36 Chinese brands already present in the country. It will arrive with a diversified portfolio, including SUVs, sedans, pickups and electric vehicles, which will allow it to face established brands such as Mazda, Toyota and Mitsubishi, among others.
DongFeng Motor Corporation was founded in 1969 as the Second Automobile Factory in China. It currently ranks 188th on the Fortune 500 list, has assets of 499.3 billion yuan, equivalent to 1.19 trillion Mexican pesos, and employs 127,000 people.

With a presence in more than 100 countries, it sold more than 1.2 million vehicles in 2024. Currently, it has 15 million units in circulation globally. Its vehicles reached half a million units sold, representing a third of its portfolio and registering an increase of 114% compared to 2023.
Models and warranties for Mexico
Upon entering the Mexican market, it will initially launch 10 models that include compact cars, SUVs and pickups, with combustion, hybrid and electric options, and in 2025, five more models will be added. Below are some of the models that are planned to be introduced in February 2025 in 32 agencies in Mexico:
SX3: 4.5-meter compact SUV with a 1.5-liter Mitsubishi engine, 123 hp and 5-speed manual transmission.
Shine Max: Hybrid midsize sedan, with a 1.5-liter turbo engine, 161 hp, along with a 174 hp and 221 lb-ft electric motor, which together provide 202 hp and 221 lb-ft
E70: Fully electric sedan with a range of 400 km per charge.
T5 Evo: 4.5-meter SUV with a 1.5-liter turbo engine, 200 hp, and automatic transmission.
T5L: SUV for up to 7 passengers with a 1.8-liter Mitsubishi turbo engine, 154 hp, and 169 lb-ft. Coupled with a 6-speed automatic transmission, 4.7 meters long and 1.8 meters wide.
M4: Minivan-type SUV for 7 passengers, with a 1.5 l turbo engine that generates 197 hp and 210 lb-ft, coupled to a DCT transmission
Shine GS: SUV similar to the Shine, developed on a modular platform in collaboration with PSA for Citroën in China. With a 1.5 l engine that generates 115 hp and 116 lb-ft. Coupled with a 6-speed automatic transmission.
Rich 6: The only model that will come in two versions, it is a double-cab pickup, available in 4×2 and 4×4 configurations, with gasoline and diesel engine options.
Huge: SUV with a 1.5 l engine, which generates 241 hp and 398 lb-ft, with a consumption of more than 17 km/l.
These are the first cars that Dongfeng will bring to Mexico, with plans to introduce 5 additional new models by 2026. Something that will depend more on the acceptance and compliance of its proposal of quality, technology and after-sales services.
