As a result of the evaluation of the quality of sea water, the Directorate of Regulation and Sanitary Promotion reports that 17 beaches in Puerto Ángel, Huatulco and Puerto Escondido are clean and suitable for recreational use during this December holiday period.
The above, according to the issuance of the pre-vacation analysis for winter 2024 by the Federal Commission for the Protection against Sanitary Risks (Cofepris), whose laboratory study and sampling resulted below 200 Most Probable Numbers (MPN) enterococci/100 milliliters, so they are free of any type of contaminant so that visitors and tourists can enjoy a pleasant vacation without health risks.
The safe beaches for bathers located in Puerto Ángel are: Principal, Panteón, Zipolite I and Zipolite II; In Huatulco: Maguey, Bahía Santa Cruz, La Entrega, Chahue, La Bocana and Tangolunda; in Puerto Escondido: Puerto Angelito, Carrizalillo, Marinero, Zicatela I, Zicatela II, Principal and Bacocho.
In light of this, the institution urges the population, as well as national and international visitors, to collaborate to keep the beaches clean and to be responsible tourists.
Also, follow hygiene measures such as washing hands with soap and water before eating and preparing food, avoid eating food of dubious origin and alcoholic beverages when driving or driving while tired, keep an eye on minors and older adults when they are in the sea or swimming pools, to avoid accidents.
