In a shocking incident that has outraged social media, a young man was the victim of an assault in the Nueva Alemania neighborhood, in the municipality of Cuautlancingo. Despite his attempt to ask neighbors for help and escape from his attackers, no one came to his aid.
📹 The video of the assault, captured by security cameras, shows the moment when the young man, around five in the morning on December 10, comes face to face with two criminals who were riding a motorcycle. One of the alleged thieves gets out of the vehicle carrying a sharp weapon and tries to intimidate the young man.
💨 In a desperate attempt to prevent the robbery, the victim runs at full speed down the street while shouting “Help!”, hoping to wake up the neighbors. However, his screams had no effect, and no one came to his aid.
A robbery with total impunity
Not getting any help, the young man decides to throw his cell phone to avoid a physical attack. The device is picked up by one of the criminals, who quickly flees with his accomplice on the motorcycle.
Security cameras captured the exact moment of the robbery, and the images, which last just over a minute and a half, have gone viral on social media. Minutes after the robbery, a public transport truck that covers the San Lorenzo Almecatla route passes by the place, revealing the total lack of action by the neighbors.
Neighbors remain indifferent
The video has unleashed a wave of criticism towards the community of the Nueva Alemania neighborhood, where no one came out to help the young man, despite his screams. Users on social media questioned the lack of solidarity and the normalization of violence in many neighborhoods in the country.
🗣️ “This is inhumane, how is it possible that no one helped him?” commented one user on social media. Others pointed out the urgent need to reinforce security in Cuautlancingo, where robberies and assaults seem to be increasingly common.
Citizen complaints and demands for justice
After the incident, the victim filed a complaint with local authorities, who reported that they are already reviewing security cameras to identify those responsible for the assault. However, so far no arrests have been made.
Citizens have asked municipal and state authorities to implement effective measures to stop the growing wave of violence in the region.
