Political Parties Condemn Morena’s Alleged Misuse of Public Funds in Mérida

The PAN, PRI, Nueva Alianza, and Movimiento Ciudadano have condemned Morena’s alleged attempt to use state funds for political advertising against Mérida’s mayor. Party leaders demand clarification and action from the state government.

Allegations of Misuse

State government personnel reportedly tried to finance Morena advertisements with public funds. Leaders from various political parties, including Gaspar Quintal Parra (PRI) and Álvaro Cetina Puerto (PAN), criticized this as a partisan misuse of power.

Political Revenge

Cetina Puerto emphasized that public funds should address citizens’ needs, not finance political attacks. He accused Morena of orchestrating an attack on Mérida’s City Council, which has shown effective governance in a short time.

Quintal Parra highlighted the risks of using public resources for political purposes, calling it an electoral crime. He stressed the importance of independent journalism and condemned the double standards of those who criticize such actions but engage in them when in power.

Calls for Accountability

Raúl Ernesto Sosa Alonzo (Nueva Alianza) and Nalleli Hernández Crespo (Movimiento Ciudadano) urged the government to clarify the situation and ensure state resources are used appropriately for the benefit of Yucatecans.
