Zacatecas caravan crosses into Mexico at the Eagle Pass-Piedras Negras border

During the early hours of this Saturday, dozens of vehicles from various states in the United States headed to the interior of Mexico to celebrate the December holidays crossed the border between Eagle Pass and Piedras Negras.

It was the so-called Zacatecan Caravan, made up of 60 vehicles of different types, mainly pickup trucks, of compatriots from Zacatecas, who decided to enter Mexico through this border and are accompanied on their journey by authorities from that state and the National Institute of Migration (INM).

The so-called Vehicle in Caravan for Peace, is made up of compatriots who are going to celebrate the Christmas and New Year holidays; coming from California, Chicago, New Mexico, Arizona, among other US states.

Vivian Juárez Mondragón, consul of Mexico in Eagle Pass, accompanied by Iván Reyes Millán, head of the Secretariat of the Zacatecan Migrant Government of the State of Zacatecas and Carolina Gálvez of the INM of Zacatecas; The flag was given to cross into Mexico.

The vehicles gathered at the Patsy Winn Sports Complex to cross International Bridge II, starting the caravan around 5:00 a.m. this Saturday and beginning to cross around 7:00 a.m.

Juárez Mondragón thanked the authorities of the three levels of government, both from the United States and Mexico, for the facilities provided to carry out this activity; which is the third time that it has been carried out on this border.

And the aforementioned activity is joined by agencies such as INM, the National Guard, Ángeles Verdes, Customs and the Army, on behalf of the Government of Mexico.
