“El Mequé” concluded with great success, a festival that celebrated the cultural, historical and artistic wealth of Chiapas for three days in a series of events that brought together thousands of people from all the municipalities of the state.
The Artisanal and Gastronomic Expo-Fair offered visitors a sample of art, gastronomy and Chiapas traditions from different regions of Chiapas, where they could enjoy typical dishes and the talent of local artisans.
The Ancestral Ceremony in Zinacantán, where a ritual of permission to mother earth was carried out from the church of San Lorenzo, recognizing the spiritual and cultural relevance of the native peoples of Chiapas.
The Parade of Cultures welcomed more than five thousand attendees from the different municipalities of the state in the streets of Tuxtla Gutiérrez, and in which the cultural diversity of Chiapas was demonstrated through its music, dances and typical costumes.
And to end the “El Mequé” Festival, a multidisciplinary show was held, headed by Governor Eduardo Ramírez, with a presentation full of lights, history and traditional dances that reaffirmed Chiapas’ commitment to the preservation and promotion of its historical and cultural heritage.
“El Mequé” represented an opportunity to project Chiapas as a state full of history, culture and unique traditions. This festival was a display of the talent, diversity and unity of its people, consolidating itself as a space that exalts Chiapaneque.
