The Jalisco Institute of Forensic Sciences has been under a strong security fence since last Monday, December 23, when the version of the theft of the body of one of the crew members of a small plane that crashed on land in the municipality of Quitupan, in the southern mountains of Jalisco, was released.

Governor Pablo Lemus Navarro reported that a special operation was implemented because relatives of the deceased did not consolidate the genetic confrontation process, since they were kidnapped by alleged members of organized crime.

In addition, in light of the version that circulated about the theft of one of the bodies that was allegedly from a direct relative of the leader of the Familia Michoacana, the state governor did not confirm this fact and assured that the operation had the objective of preventing possible acts of violence.

“No, we don’t see a risk, but it’s good to be careful, the truth is, as long as the identification work continues together with the Michoacán Prosecutor’s Office, this discreet operation will be carried out,” he added.

Who are the victims of the plane that fell in Jalisco?

One of the crew members of the plane was Fabián Abarca, Marilyn Odessa’s ex-husband, who is also the daughter of the singer Marisela.

Through a message on her social networks, Marilyn confirmed the death of her ex-husband, who also served as her manager, and was the father of her two children.

The singer announced, through the same means, the cancellation of one of her concerts, which she had scheduled for this December 28.

Another of the deceased is Juan de Dios Farías Villalobos, son of the former municipal president and current councilor of Tepalcatepec; Uriel Farías Álvarez, ‘El Paisa’, is identified as the brother of Juan José ‘El Abuelo’ Farías, leader of the Tepalcatepec Cartel, who was previously part of the self-defense forces in Michoacán and later joined the Jalisco Nueva Generación Cartel (CJNG), a group with which he is in conflict.

His body is the one that was supposedly stolen by armed individuals; however, the Jalisco prosecutor’s office has ruled out that version.

Another of the victims was Iveth Soto Villalobos, half-sister of Juan de Dios Farías, who was a citizen of the United States.

Among the deceased are also the pilot of Michoacan origin, Héctor Enrique Ramos, and another man unofficially identified as Iván Armando Paz and Julio Quintana, who was also a US citizen.

The aircraft was a blue and white Cessna 210 single-engine plane with registration AB-MLO, which took off at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday from a rural runway called La Parota, in the municipal seat of Tepalcatepec; it crashed after several minutes of flight, in a mountainous area in southern Jalisco.
