At the end of the December holiday season, the exodus of vacationers to the north of Tamaulipas and Mexico began. Therefore, the federal and interstate highways have begun to register a high influx of motor vehicles.

Starting on Friday, January 3, the Altamira-Morón-Aldama interstate highway registered a high influx of vehicles from south to north traveling to the north of Tamaulipas.

It is a fast route to pass through the south of Tamaulipas
This highway that comes from the area of the port of Altamira, connects with the interstate highway of the Luis Donaldo Colosio urban corridor and joins Ciudad Madero with the Tampico bridge. It is one of the fast route options for motorists when crossing through the southern area of Tamaulipas.

“There is a high traffic flow on the highway that leads to Morón and Aldama because it is a relief route used by drivers of light vehicles, as they do not take the Altamira Manuel highway, which is always loaded with more traffic, as it is the only road that leads to the capital of Tamaulipas, and to Monterrey, Nuevo León,” reported the Delegate of Transit and Roads Santiago, Cerecedo Maya.

There is a vehicle flow of 20 units per hour
The interviewee commented that the vehicle flow is 20 units per hour circulating in the direction of the north of the state, mostly cars and SUV-type trucks that carried luggage up to the roof.

The purpose of taking this interstate highway, which is 90 kilometers long, via Morón, is to exit at Aldama and from there take federal route 180 to go towards Matamoros and Reynosa.

“The recommendation to take this road should be made during the day, it is in good condition for vehicular traffic and many motorists coming from the southeast and heading north take this road to save time on the road,” added Cerecedo Maya.

Motorists take this road to avoid continuing their journey on the Tampico-Mante highway in the Altamira-Villa Manuel section, because despite being a four-lane highway, a large amount of heavy traffic circulates.

It is expected that this road for vehicular relief will register a greater influx during this weekend, especially during the day. Drivers indicate little presence of elements of the State Guard that monitor the road and provide assistance to motorists.
