On the occasion of the day of the Three Wise Men, the Ministry of Culture of Michoacán (Secum) invites children and adults to visit the Museum of Colonial Art and contemplate The Adoration of the Kings, a representative work of the 18th century.

This oil on canvas portrays the arrival of the kings from the East, following the star of Bethlehem to adore the Child Jesus, an iconic scene of these dates.

The painting stands out for representing the Child Jesus with an expression of intelligence unusual for his age, integrating elements that link the Old and New Testaments. Its symbolic and technical richness makes this work an essential reference of colonial art.

During these holidays, visitors will be able to enjoy not only this piece, but also a wide collection that spans from the 17th to the 19th century. Each work exhibited in the museum offers a glimpse of the various techniques and styles that marked these times.

Don’t miss this opportunity to delve into tradition and art. Visit it this holiday and discover the cultural legacy that unites us. The Museum of Colonial Art is located at 240 Benito Juárez Street, in the Historic Center of Morelia.
