Security operation implemented at the Oaxaca Supply Center to protect the Three Wise Men

The Oaxaca de Juárez City Council reported that in order to guarantee the safety of the residents who go shopping on Avenida Central, where toys are sold on the occasion of Three Kings’ Day, the Neighborhood Security Secretariat maintains a surveillance operation in that area of ​​the supply market.

Claudio de Jesús Pérez y Pérez, head of Security, indicated that on instructions from the municipal president Ray Chagoya, since Friday afternoon an operation was applied with elements of the Mobility Directorate, with the purpose of speeding up vehicular circulation and protecting “the Three Wise Men” in their purchases.

“The operation is carried out permanently in prevention and deterrence actions by elements of the Social Proximity Directorate, supported by motorcycle patrols and patrol cars, in order to guarantee the safety of the hundreds of people who come to make their purchases,” he reported in a statement.

Municipal Civil Protection personnel also participate, to give recommendations to merchants on the use of electrical outlets to prevent any incident.

The director of Civil Protection, Gerardo Flores Caballero, indicated that the personnel conducts tours and verified the power outage and the distribution of the electricity lines throughout the avenue. Likewise, the space of the main corridor and some emergency exits have been designated to be used in case of contingency.

The operation will continue until next Tuesday, January 7.

“Motorists are informed that traffic remains closed in both lanes of Central Avenue and those who travel to the San Martín Mexicápam agency, access is via Guadalupe Victoria Street (Libertad neighborhood), banks of the Atoyac, Puente Victoria to reach Gómez Morín Avenue.

“Those traveling from San Martín Mexicápam toward the center must take the Valerio Trujano bridge, continue along the extension of Valerio Trujano and take Las Flores street (Libertad neighborhood), only for private transportation, since public transportation must continue the route on the extension of Valerio Trujano, to Periférico,” the document adds.
