Detienen a falsa doctora en IMSS Durango; medicaba a familiares de pacientes para robarlos

A woman was arrested by State Police officers who, posing as a doctor at clinic number 1 of the Mexican Social Security Institute in the city of Durango, was supplying medication (Clonazepam) without authorization and without a prescription to relatives who were caring for their patients, saying that they were vitamins, with the alleged intention of putting them to sleep and stealing their belongings.

These events occurred during the early hours of Friday, January 3, when State Police officers were on their prevention and surveillance patrol along Normal Avenue in the aforementioned city, where they observed that a woman named Rosario, 50 years old, was signaling them to stop, indicating that inside the hospital they were holding a woman who, posing as a doctor, had given her medication without authorization.

The victim, who is originally from El Salto, in the municipality of Pueblo Nuevo, said that moments before, she was taking care of a family member who was hospitalized, and the supposed doctor, wearing a white coat, came to her and gave her a pill, supposedly vitamins, to make her feel better, but minutes later she began to feel ill, so she went to the medical staff on the floor, who told her that said person is not a doctor nor does she work at the IMSS, hence they proceeded, along with several witnesses, to detain the woman.

When the state agents arrived, they proceeded to arrest the person who said her name was Sonia Alejandra, 40 years old, and when they searched her, they found a box of 24 Clonazepam pills in her left pants pocket, which she supposedly used to sedate people and allegedly rob them of their belongings.

Following the direct accusation of the affected person, as well as the medical coordinator, who stated that this person does not belong to the institution, the alleged person responsible for posing as a doctor was placed at the disposal of the State Attorney General’s Office for any liability that may arise from the events described above.
