Los Cabos Film Festival 2024 Celebrates Winners

After a year of pause due to artistic and financial restructuring, the Los Cabos International Film Festival held its 2024 edition and awarded various projects affiliated with the Gabriel Figueroa Film Fund.

Alejandra Paulín and Maru Garzón, executive director and artistic director, respectively, led the closing night, this Saturday, where Manuel García Rulfo and Melissa Barrera were awarded the Sin Fronteras Award.

“We are very excited to have come this far; after changes and modifications, we are here and we can only thank all the allies and personalities who made this possible,” said Garzón.

Around 500 people attended the exclusive screening of María, a film directed by Pablo Larraín and starring Angelina Jolie, which had one of its first screenings in the country at the same time as the premiere in the United States; The film will be released in Mexico in the first quarter of 2025.

Actors Naian González and Alfonso Herrera, as well as the award winners, attended the closing night at the Puerto Los Cabos Sculpture Garden. Producers Nicolas Celis and Julio Chavezmontes were also present, who presented their awards to Barrera and García Rulfo, respectively.

The Los Cabos International Film Festival awarded various awards and economic incentives to budding projects within the Gabriel Figueroa Film Fund, and most of the winners were present at the venue.
