LGBTTT groups demand justice for teacher killed in Veracruz

LGBTTT+ activists and groups have called on the authorities to do justice in the case of the murder of the teacher from the Universidad Veracruzana, Ehdibaldo Presa Parra.

Presa Parra was a teacher at the highest educational institution in the state of Veracruz in the Faculty of Biological and Agricultural Sciences, in Peñuela, Amatlán de los Reyes, in the central area of ​​the state of Veracruz.

His body was found with a serious wound to the neck and other signs of violence in a house in the Las Quintas housing complex, in the municipality of Córdoba, on January 7, after friends and family were looking for him and did not get an answer.

Faced with this situation, various members of LGBTTT groups have raised their voices to demand that the Attorney General of the State of Veracruz find him and/or those responsible and guarantee access to justice.

Leonardo Ruiz Mor, president of the civil association “Orgullo Xalapa”, said that it is urgent to guarantee security for those who belong to the gay community in Veracruz and throughout the country.

“This tragic event reminds us of the urgent need to protect and defend the human rights of our community,” he said.

For her part, Cristina Ortíz Vargas, Director at Cicata, said that the murder of the professor generates sadness and anger among the groups, so it is urgent that justice be done in this and all cases.

Likewise, the Federal Deputy for Morena said that he will intervene in the case and extended his condolences to friends and family of the university professor.

“All my solidarity in the face of the atrocious event that occurred in Veracruz, my deepest condolences to the family and friends of Ehdibaldo Presa Parra. We will intervene immediately!” she said on social media.

The Universidad Veracruzana also regretted the death of Presa Parra and said that they share in the grief that the university community is currently experiencing.
