In an effort to combat illicit activities such as drug trafficking, weapons and prohibited goods, police corporations and authorities from the three levels of government carried out joint operations in various parcel delivery companies in the city of Piedras Negras.

The action was led by elements of the Municipal Police, State Police, National Guard and personnel from the Mexican Army, who carried out thorough inspections of the packages that passed through these facilities.

According to the authorities, these operations are part of the security strategies implemented to guarantee the well-being of the population and prevent Piedras Negras from being used as a transit point for illegal activities.

The inspections also included a manual verification of packages considered suspicious. Although at the closing of this note no relevant seizures were reported, the authorities reiterated their commitment to maintain this type of actions periodically.

These operations are added to a series of measures adopted by the authorities to maintain security in Piedras Negras, a key city on the border with the United States.

It is expected that such inspections will continue to be carried out at different points in the city as part of efforts to protect the region from illegal activities.
