A 3.7-degree earthquake near El Mante was the first earthquake recorded in Tamaulipas in 2025.
It occurred in the first 59 minutes of Saturday, January 11, when the earthquake was recorded by the National Seismological System (SSN), 65 kilometers west of Ciudad Mante.

According to the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), the magnitude of the earthquake was 3.7 degrees on the Richter scale and its epicenter was five kilometers deep.
