The above was detailed by the head of Profeco, Iván Escalante, in the morning conference at the National Palace.

“Three cases were presented that, after requesting information, did not prove or justify the increase in the price of fuel, and therefore, we carried out an administrative warning procedure in which the banners were placed to inform consumers and guide them not to buy in these establishments, where gasoline is sold more expensive than normal,” he explained.

It was noted that the placement of these warning banners occurred at Mobil service stations, Colinas de San Jerónimo neighborhood in Monterrey; Mi Gasolina, in La Arboleda neighborhood in Durango, in addition to the Chevron outlet, located in Pedregal del Carmen neighborhood in León.

Escalante said that after it was detailed in the morning conference that gas stations that give high prices will be exhibited, many outlets began to lower prices.

“Last Wednesday and Thursday, visits were made to Monterrey, Nuevo León, Durango, Durango and León, Guanajuato, where it was confirmed that after the announcement we made on January 3, that banners with physical tacks would be placed in establishments, a significant number of gas stations lowered the price of regular gasoline to less than 24 pesos per liter,” he explained.
