Starting this Friday, January 10, it is already more expensive to travel from Durango to Mazatlán, and vice versa, through the so-called superhighway. The toll rates administered by Caminos y Puentes Federales (Capufe) have been adjusted.
According to reports, in general on the roads administered by this agency throughout the country, drivers of cars, motorcycles and heavy vehicles will have to pay between five and nine percent more.
Regarding the Durango-Mazatlán superhighway, the rates in effect as of this Friday indicate that motorists will have to pay 784 pesos to get from one destination to another. This figure is for a total of four toll booths, the first one is the Durango-Entronque Otinapa bypass, with a value of 80 pesos, followed by the Otinapa-Entronque Piloncillo, in Llano Grande, for 120 pesos.
Likewise, in Coscomate, which is the most expensive of the road, at 382 pesos; it is precisely the Piloncillo-Santa Lucía Junction. The next one is Santa Lucía-Villa Unión, in Mesillas, where you must pay 151 pesos.
In the case of motorcyclists, the total for traveling on the “super” is 392 pesos, while in the case of buses, they pay 1,533, and in the case of heavy units, trucks, there are various figures according to their characteristics, but the costs range from 1,553 to 3,130.
The Durango-Mazatlán superhighway was inaugurated in 2013 by former President Enrique Peña Nieto, together with the then governor of Durango, Jorge Herrera Caldera, and authorities from Sinaloa.
This road has been considered one of the most expensive and complex works in all of Mexico. And that was the waiting time; its construction took around 12 years, which meant that three federal administrations interfered in it.
