Nu Mexico, a digital, transparent, clear and human finance company, has signed an agreement with the OXXO retail chain to expand its network of cash deposits and withdrawals starting in 2025. This partnership will allow more than 9 million Nu customers in Mexico to have access to the network of more than 22,000 OXXO stores.
Cash withdrawals with Nu cards will be available in OXXO stores across the country starting January 14, 2025, while cash deposits will be enabled in the following months.
“This agreement with OXXO will allow us to promote financial inclusion in areas still underserved by traditional financial institutions. It reinforces our commitment to making finance accessible to more Mexicans and marks a significant step towards simplifying access to the financial system in a country where cash remains relevant for millions of people,” said Iván Canales, CEO of Nu Mexico.
The addition of OXXO will complement Nu’s existing network, built on the Arcus by Mastercard infrastructure, which includes establishments such as Soriana, Chedraui, the Kiosko, Systienda and Yastás store networks, as well as Financiera para el Bienestar branches, thus consolidating one of the most robust infrastructures in the sector with more than 30,000 physical contact points.
“At OXXO, we are committed to offering the best services for the benefit of our customers. We constantly work to identify their needs and provide them with innovative, practical and accessible solutions that truly simplify their daily lives. This new partnership with Nu reinforces our mission to be the most reliable and accessible network that promotes financial inclusion throughout the country,” said Eduardo Velasco Garza, Director of Services at OXXO.
This expansion of Nu’s network is part of a broader vision in which technology and strategic alliances eliminate the obstacles of the traditional financial system, promoting the digitalization of finances and bringing millions of Mexicans closer to a more inclusive and connected financial experience.
