Starting January 19, Morelos will launch the Unique Pet Registry (RUM), an initiative designed to effectively control dogs and cats. This measure seeks to promote responsibility in the ownership of pets
What is the RUM?
The Unique Pet Registry (RUM) is a system implemented to census and maintain more efficient control of pets in the state. Its operation is comparable to that of the CURP for people, which makes it easier to identify and track registered pets. Alan Dupré, Secretary of Sustainable Development, confirmed that this registry will be completely free and will not entail any cost for owners.
The RUM allows dogs and cats to be registered in order to track them in case of loss or abandonment. One of its key functions is the issuance of alerts in a specific radius that inform other users of the registry to facilitate the location and safe return of pets to their homes. In addition, this system seeks to promote responsible care and prevent animal abuse.
What benefits can you get if you register your pet?
Registration offers multiple benefits such as:
- Helps locate lost pets through an alert system.
- Sterilization and vaccination campaigns, which will be available to owners enrolled in the program.
Where do you register?
Registration can be done in person on January 19 at the Benito Juárez Sports Unit, located in the municipality of Emiliano Zapata, Morelos.
During this event, which will take place from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., sterilization sessions and advice on animal protection will also be held.
