The previous administration headed by engineer Mariano Alberto Díaz Ochoa left several projects unfinished, and there are currently more than 700 lawsuits filed with the competent authorities related to public works. Although those affected have already filed their claims, it will be the current administration that will have to take charge of solving these problems. Some projects were paid at 50%, but so far the real progress is only 15% in various colonies and neighborhoods of the city.

In relation to the above, the municipal president of San Cristóbal herself indicated that there are more than 700 lawsuits filed by representatives of various projects, which are already in the hands of the competent authorities. However, as a city council, the current administration will have to take charge of the debt left by the previous administration. Days after taking office, unfinished works were detected, many of which were paid 50% to the representatives of the works, but, to date, the progress does not exceed 15%.

“Unfortunately, there are more than 700 lawsuits that are already in the hands of the authorities, and which correspond to a debt of more than 46 million pesos. This situation was discovered days after taking office. The municipal treasury is already aware of all this, and the Superior State Audit Office (ASE) is also aware. In addition, those affected have already filed, or in some cases will do so soon, their complaints to the corresponding authorities,” said both the mayor and the municipal treasurer.

Finally, the mayor mentioned that the investigation into an alleged embezzlement of more than 90 million pesos left by the previous administration in the Municipal Water and Sewerage System (SAPAM) is still ongoing. The corresponding authorities are already aware of this case and will be in charge of carrying out the investigation, so the multimillion-dollar debt left by the previous administration is already in the hands of the responsible bodies.
