The governor of the state, Mauricio Kuri González, presented the Querétaro 2050 Plan, which is a long-term strategic document for the construction of the future of the state. By 2050, the state’s population is expected to be between 4 and 5 million inhabitants, which will lead to an increase in services in various areas.

This document details the construction of the future of the state, which includes several iconic projects such as the metro in metropolitan areas, intrastate trains, the airport city, specialty hospitals, among others. In his message, the governor celebrated and celebrated the integration of this plan for the future of Querétaro, and that although he indicated that the state is on the right path, he seeks to make it a sustainable, safe place and a friendly environment for future generations. For his part, the Secretary of Planning and Citizen Participation, Luis Antonio Rangel Méndez, explained that organized civil society participated in the construction of this plan, through workshops, forums and meetings, and 300 thousand homes were also visited.

He explained that it has 6 strategic vocations: the circular economy, education, logistics, aeronautics and aerospace, tourism, as well as high tech, innovation and data centers. These in turn, he added, analyze seven topics: population; equity and plenitude; energy transition; mobility and competitive logistics; territorial planning, urbanism and infrastructure; economic and technological innovation; and the rule of law, governance and institutions; each with their respective challenges such as reducing poverty to 10 percent; achieving per capita water consumption of 150 liters per person per day; among others. Antonio Rangel, highlighted the importance of not having more patches, or continuing to reinvent Querétaro every six years. He announced that this Plan will be updated in 2026.
