A female police officer was injured in an ambush perpetrated by armed men against elements of the Jalisco Public Security Secretariat in the municipality of Tocaltiche, on the border with Zacatecas.
The events occurred on Sunday night when state police officers were patrolling near the community of Tenayuca and were shot at by civilians traveling in several vehicles.
The state officers responded to the aggression and requested support, so several units of the National Guard, the Defense and the Zacatecas state police went to the site.
When they saw themselves outnumbered, the aggressors escaped through gaps towards the state of Zacatecas and to avoid being pursued by the authorities they threw objects on the road to puncture tires.
After the fight, a female police officer was reported with some injuries caused by shrapnel and was transferred to receive medical attention; it was reported that she is out of danger.
Unofficially, there is a version that the attackers used drones with explosives to attack the police officers, however, so far no authority has confirmed this information.
