El Saltito beach in Baja California Sur has become an international point of reference, not only for its natural beauty, but also for being one of the settings for Prada’s new campaign, in collaboration with National Geographic.

The sustainable fashion initiative, which features actress Sadie Sink and actor Benedict Cumberbatch, seeks to promote the conservation of marine ecosystems through the use of recycled plastics.

Prada’s campaign is part of Prada’s Re-Nylon line, which uses recycled plastics from oceans and landfills to create high-end products.

The luxury brand this time highlighted its collaboration with National Geographic within the framework of its Sea Beyond program. This program, started in 2019, aims to raise audience awareness about the urgent need to protect the seas and their ecosystems.

The documentary series that accompanies this campaign features different brand ambassadors, such as actor Benedict Cumberbatch, who explores marine pollution in Norway.

Meanwhile, Sadie Sink travels to the coasts of Baja California Sur, at El Saltito beach in La Paz, showing the fragility of the marine environment and the efforts to create a positive impact on it.

Through the images, the campaign highlights the joint work between Prada, National Geographic and various environmental organizations to raise global awareness about the environmental crisis.

The Re-Nylon collection, which uses Econyl, a material made from recycled nylon, represents another step in the fashion industry’s fight to reduce its environmental footprint, turning plastic waste into high-quality luxury products.

The use of recycled plastics not only contributes to reducing pollution, but also sets a new standard in the luxury sector, proving that fashion can be sustainable and sophisticated

The collection includes 191 pieces, including backpacks, handbags and bucket hats, designed with the minimalist aesthetic and functionality that characterizes the brand. With sober colors such as black, along with touches of bottle green and aviator blue, the Re-Nylon collection conveys elegance without sacrificing environmental responsibility.

Where is El Saltito Beach located?

El Saltito Beach, located 32 kilometers from La Paz, Baja California Sur, and 38 minutes by car, is a less crowded destination that is distinguished by its tranquility and natural beauty. This virgin beach, with crystal-clear waters in shades of turquoise blue and white sand, has become a favorite place for locals looking for a nearby escape from the urban hustle and bustle.

Unlike other more popular beaches such as Balandra or Tecolote, El Saltito does not have tourist services, which allows it to maintain a more relaxed and less crowded atmosphere.

The beach is ideal for those who want to enjoy nature and spend time in a more reserved environment. In addition, the sunsets from this point offer a serene and picturesque view, consolidating itself as one of the most outstanding attractions in the area.
