Coming from Cabos San Lucas, Baja California Sur, the Discovery Princess tourist cruise ship arrived at the port of Mazatlán this Tuesday, with more than 5,000 visitors on board, which reactivated the smokeless industrial sectors of the city and rural area.
The ship docked at the cruise terminal for the third time this month, and it was the tenth arrival so far this year.
According to state and municipal tourism authorities, 3,731 passengers and 1,357 crew members arrived in Mazatlán with the possibility of enjoying the main attractions and activities of interest in the city in a calm and warm environment for all visitors.
The Municipal Secretariat for Economic Development, Tourism and Fisheries announced that the estimated economic impact was 6.1 million pesos, with a direct benefit to Mazatlan families who depend on the sectors related to the care of cruise passengers, and that, in the information module located in front of the port terminal, attention was given to hundreds of visitors who opted for walking tours.
For her part, the Secretary of Tourism of Sinaloa, Mireya Sosa Osuna, through a statement, specified that during 2025, 10 cruise ships have arrived with a total of 37,206 passengers and 13,425 crew members on board.
The arrival of this type of vessel, in addition to reviving local tourism, generates a strong economic boost for different sectors of the city and its surroundings, reaffirming the port as one of the favorite destinations of shipping companies, highlighted the Secretary of Tourism of Sinaloa.
According to its itinerary, the Discovery Princess will depart at 6:00 p.m. to continue its route through the Mexican Pacific and its next port of call is Puerto Vallarta, in the state of Jalisco.
The arrival of the “Royal Princess” is scheduled for this week, next Saturday.
