From January 22 to 26, Los Cabos will participate in the International Tourism Fair (Fitur) 2025 in Madrid, Spain, one of the most important events in the sector globally. The destination seeks to strengthen its international presence and promote its tourism offering in gastronomy, adventure and well-being.
Rodrigo Esponda Cascajares, director of the Los Cabos Tourism Trust (Fiturca), reported that at least 60 meetings are scheduled during the fair with companies, tour operators and the media to publicize the destination’s attractions and establish new alliances that will boost its growth in the international market.
“We will be having 60 meetings between Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. We will also have some interviews with the media. We will offer the event to the main business partners and the media, we will be showing the gastronomy of Los Cabos with chef Paolo de la Corte from Nobu, and with the Mixologist Oswaldo Vázquez who will be doing some demonstrations.”
The European market is already the third largest source of foreign tourists to Los Cabos, so Fiturca continues to work to strengthen connectivity with Europe. As part of this strategy, the resumption of the direct flight with Spain is expected, which would facilitate the growth of this segment and consolidate the destination in the international market.
“The volume of travel since the direct connection from Frankfurt was made has increased in a very important way, where not only travelers from Germany visit us; Spain, France, Italy and Switzerland, making this connection very successful. Discussing the flight, there are still restrictions regarding the number of flights they have, but we continue to explore opportunities to be able to recover this direct connectivity; we believe that it will eventually happen.”
Los Cabos, through Fiturca, participates in the debate table organized by the World Travel and Tourism Council where the economic challenges faced by tourist destinations on their way to sustainable tourism are analyzed. The main focus will be the importance of improving the tourist infrastructure to guarantee responsible and competitive growth.
