The Attorney General’s Office (FGR), through its Specialized Prosecutor’s Office for Regional Control (FECOR) in Colima, and the Command of the 6th Naval Region of the Navy, incinerated more than 1,200 kilograms of cocaine and other narcotics that were recently seized in the waters of the Pacific Ocean, as well as in other places.

Electoral process for the local Judicial Branch begins in Colima
The total of narcotics incinerated consisted of 1,234 kilograms with 262 grams of cocaine hydrochloride, 845 grams with 38 milligrams of methamphetamine hydrochloride, 10 kilograms with 31 grams of marijuana, 150 marijuana plants, in addition to 604 objects used as packaging for the narcotics, as well as communication elements, among other items.

The above corresponds to 16 federal investigation files, and the incinerated volume could represent a total of two million five hundred thousand doses.

Before authorities from the Navy and Defense Secretariats, Security and Citizen Protection, National Guard and the State Government, it was highlighted that these institutions, together with the Attorney General’s Office (FGR) in Colima, constitute a bulwark against insecurity, violence and health-related crimes, derived from drug production, storage, marketing and consumption.

During the event, it was stressed that the incineration is the result of research, intelligence work and systematic and coordinated actions to dismantle criminal gangs that affect youth and the general population by supplying them with various drugs.

Likewise, it was stated that this act of destruction represents a strong blow to international drug trafficking, considering that criminal organizations use various maritime and land routes to evade authorities and thus achieve their criminal ends.

The incineration took place in the facilities of a hunting club, equipped for this purpose, under the supervision of the Internal Control Body (OIC) of this Prosecutor’s Office, in order to guarantee the veracity of the type and weight of the narcotics eradicated.

Authorities, elements of the Federal Ministerial Police (PFM) and experts from the Criminal Investigation Agency (AIC) participated in the process.
