Two Puerto Vallarta traffic police officers who were accused of assaulting a drunk driver and his companions after asking them for five thousand pesos in exchange for letting them go and they ended up refusing to pay were charged with abuse of authority and bribery.
These are Ángeles Margarita “N” and Natalia “N” the officers who were charged with abuse of authority committed by a public servant by allowing any act that violates the rights guaranteed by the Political Constitution of Mexico and the State of Jalisco as well as bribery, for requesting money to “do or stop doing something related to their employment, position or commission”, as established by the Penal Code for the Free and Sovereign State of Jalisco.
The Judge imposed as precautionary measures that will be in effect for six months or as long as the process lasts, that the traffic police officers will be suspended from their position and must appear to sign monthly before the Precautionary Measures Unit.
Both elements are prohibited from approaching the victim and witnesses, as well as their homes.
