The state leader highlighted the data from the Quarterly Indicator of State Economic Activity (ITAEE) of INEGI, in which Sonora stands out for the 17.1% increase in the tourism subsector, a sign of the positive impact of the strategies implemented to attract more visitors and consolidate Sonora as a world-class tourist destination.
In addition to the positive results that the state presented until the second half of 2024 in economic matters, there was also an increase in primary activity of 1.6% in the third quarter of 2024, which includes the rural sectors such as livestock and Sonoran agriculture.
In tertiary economic activity, that is, goods, services and tourism, the increase during the third quarter of 2024 was 1.4%, with the tourism sector standing out in this area specifically, which by itself registered a growth of 17.1%.
This growth not only generated direct employment in the sector, but also boosted the economic development of communities and small businesses throughout the state.
