To reduce the deficit and recruit more drivers in public transportation, the government of Nuevo Leon and businessmen in the sector announced a plan of benefits for truck service operators, which includes free transportation, scholarships and support in universities for their children, as well as financial aid for their spouses.

The Secretary of Mobility and Urban Planning of the state government, Hernán Villarreal, and the owners of transport routes adhering to the “Muevoleón” program presented the support package “Operator, we help you.”

The plan, which seeks to dignify their work and help improve the quality of life of their families, includes free rides on public transportation for drivers for their children, as well as direct access to high schools and state universities and scholarships, all with a limit of up to two offspring per operator.

In addition, prizes and bonuses are offered to operators who distinguish themselves as the best in their companies.

They will also have access to free eye exams and glasses.

They are also offered support for licenses withheld for fines not related to the driver.

And they are guaranteed that the sanction for preventive warning would be applied to them up to the third time.

The official assured that support for daycare centers is maintained.

Villarreal Rodríguez recalled that another attraction is the salary of between 4 thousand and 4 thousand 500 pesos per week.

The training is paid and they are offered help in the process of the special license for the urban service.

The operators of the service can benefit from the “Impulso a Cuidadoras” or “Jefas de Familia” Program, to receive 800 pesos per month; and in the case of the operators, their partners will also be able to access the same benefit.

Questioned about the shortage of drivers in the service, the state official did not specify how many are missing.

Without giving numbers, he said that more operators are needed because 1,500 new trucks will soon arrive to join the fleet, which is close to 4,000 units.

“If you are interested in being part of that team, join Muevoleón,” he asked.

Those who wish can call 070 for more information or go to the offices of the Mobility Institute, either in the Parque Niños Héroes or at the San Bernabé facilities.

The “Nuevo León Informa” conference was also attended by the head of the Mobility Institute and also director of Metrorrey, Abraham Vargas.
