In the framework of the 53rd anniversary of the Casa de Artesanías en Michoacán (Casart), the general director, Castor Estrada Robles, indicated that they will soon open a store in San Miguel de Allende, Guanajuato, to exhibit the crafts and products originating from the state.
At the event that took place inside the Casa de Artesanías that was founded on February 2, 1972, artisans and authorities met to celebrate the anniversary; Castor Robles noted that this new showcase will serve to show the talent of the people of Michoacán.
Likewise, he announced the collaboration agreement that was signed with the Sí Financia agency, with which they will be able to support with credits for artisans individually or collectively, 50 percent of which will be provided by the National Institution of the Social Economy (INAES) and the rest by the state government.

“We are celebrating our 53rd anniversary. It sounds easy, but it is not. It is about fighting hand in hand with the artisans so that they have a dignified and honorable way of life,” said the director.
On her part, the president of the State Union of Artisans of the State, María Emilia Reyes, recognized the work of artisans throughout the state, and underlined the power of the sector, which is important at the national level for the type of products they offer.
Areli Gallegos, director of Sí Financia, said that “Financiarte” will support with amounts of 5 thousand pesos to 150 thousand pesos for individual artisans, or collectively or in groups, from 101 thousand to 500 thousand pesos, for people 18 years of age and older:
It is for people who carry out some activity in the artisan sector or some artisan project to undertake, with an acceptable credit history.
Castor Estrada recalled that there are 16 artisanal branches, distributed in seven regions of the state. It is worth mentioning that last year he announced the opening of other houses nationwide to serve as a showcase for Michoacán’s crafts.
