Vehicles, weapons and slot machines seized in Culiacan, Navolato, Mazatlan and San Ignacio

A civilian was arrested, in addition to the confiscation of vehicles, weapons and slot machines in the municipalities of Culiacán, Navolato, Mazatlán and San Ignacio, as a result of security actions in recent days, reported the spokeswoman for the State Public Security Secretariat (SSPE), Verona Hernández Valenzuela.

At a press conference, the official announced that in the state capital, members of the State Preventive Police (PEP) arrested a civilian who was carrying a firearm, in addition to seizing a van without license plates.

Meanwhile, members of the National Defense Secretariat (Defense), in a coordinated manner, located a van in which three rifle magazines were seized, one of them for disc, as well as cartridges and steel tips. In addition, federal and state authorities in joint actions recovered two vans shortly after they were stolen.

In the municipality of Navolato, a presumed camp was located, where various illegal materials were seized, such as bags with prohibited substances, three jet skis, a black supply with six magazines, a bag with cartridges of different calibers and a box with seven improvised explosive devices, as well as other evidence that was confiscated on site.

In addition, it was indicated that, in Mazatlán, members of the Interinstitutional Group seized a vehicle, four long weapons, 18 magazines of different calibers and ammunition. Likewise, in the various coordinated security actions in the port and the municipality of San Ignacio, 48 slot machines were seized.

Hernández Valenzuela highlighted that this weekend the events “Altata Biker Fest” in Navolato and the “Oyster Fair” in the municipality of Elota were held, where safe routes were reinforced by elements of the State Preventive Police and the National Guard, who remained with greater presence on the roads to support the transit of tourists.

In addition, the routes from the state capital to the tourist areas of Imala, Altata and Surutato, as every weekend, were reinforced with tours of federal and state elements in order to provide security to visitors to the places of recreation.
