Approximately 4,000 people attended the National Pulque Day, with its “Pulque and Mezcal Festival,” which took place this Sunday in the municipality of Mexquitic de Carmona. With private investors and artisan visitors from various municipalities, the exhibitors demonstrated the quality of the mezcal produced in the Altiplano of San Luis Potosí.
Among the mezcal producers, four artisan producers from Campanilla arrived, who presented their mezcal for lovers and another whose name alludes to a red bird.
Artisans from Picacho brought woven baskets of sotol, wooden crafts, names also made of wood, artisan bakery, figures with corn leaves, and traditional bakers from Santa María del Río included the traditional Campechanas.
The Culture and Tourism departments of the municipality of Mexquitic de Carmona coordinated the group of artisans who came to exhibit their wares.
According to the director of tourism, Alberto Trejo, by four in the afternoon most of the more than 700 liters of pulque had already been sold.
