Painting and woodcarving exhibition “Origins of Tlaltelulco” opens

In order to bring cultural, artistic and craft exhibitions to the citizens, the Municipal Government of La Magdalena Tlaltelulco opens the doors of the Town Hall so that exponents can show their art in our municipality, so we welcome the master Irving Tomás Munive Quiroz and his exhibition “Orígenes”, highlighted the municipal president, Rocío Meléndez Pluma.

“Through the management of the municipal Chronicler’s management, we received the first pictorial exhibition in our Town Hall, which will be open to the public free of charge from February 10 to March 10, so I invite citizens to get to know it and also, why not, acquire some work by the master”, highlighted the municipal president.

The exhibition consists of two pictorial collections: one that shows Introspectivas y Sentimientos very personal de la autora through thirteen pieces that address specific emotions; in addition to the “Nebula” collection, which shows astronomical images through nine paintings.

Also, Irving Tomás Munive Quiroz, shows us his mastery in the craft of wood carving by presenting the collection of three masks with the title “Dead Trees”, “initially they were going to be carnival masks, but when I had the wood in my hands I felt that it was necessary to give an expression to these trees that had died”, the artist explained how the moment of his inspiration was.

In addition, Munive Quiroz, highlighted that it was artisans from Tizatlán who taught him the art of wood carving, for this reason, in his collection, he shows five canes with his peculiar vision: three of them representing snakes, one more representing spring and the fifth the feathered serpent Quetzalcoatl.

The “Origins” exhibition has interpretations of world artists through wood carving: these are the “Guernica” by Pablo Picasso, as well as the “Starry Night” by Vincent Van Gogh; It also has seven wood carvings that include pre-Hispanic replicas, as well as a wooden sculpture of a whale and its calf.

Finally, the municipal chronicler, Dominga Zamora Ventura, thanked the master Irving Tomás for exhibiting his work in our municipality and thanked the municipal president, Rocío Meléndez Pluma, for being the first mayor to open the Town Hall to be a meeting point between citizens and culture.
