The State Commission for the Protection against Sanitary Risks (Coeprist) reinforced the review of hotels and motels in the municipalities of Tlaltelulco and Chiautempan, which resulted in the suspension of five establishments for various irregularities, some of them critical in nature.
The actions were carried out on February 8 with the participation of six brigades composed of two sanitary inspectors each. They found non-compliance with current sanitary regulations and the General Law on Tobacco Control.
The main irregularities detected were:
- Lack of notice of operation
- Harmful fauna and expired foods
- Absence of a fumigation certificate and pest control protocol
- Sale of alcoholic beverages without authorization (excessive business activity)
- Lack of water chlorination system and maintenance of cisterns and tanks
- Lack of hygiene in mattresses and bed linen
- Dirty and worn furniture; infrastructure in poor condition
- Communication with the owner’s home
During the operation, elements of the Secretariat of Citizen Security (SSC) and the Navy provided support to the Coeprist verifiers. The authorities placed closure seals on the suspended establishments to ensure that they comply with the imposed measures.
