A group of foreigners were caught sunbathing on the asphalt in Parque México, a site located in the Condesa neighborhood of the Cuauhtémoc municipality, Mexico City.

A video was shared on TikTok in which two women are seen putting on sunscreen while enjoying a hot afternoon in the country’s capital.

A Mexican girl captured the moment in which both foreigners put on sunscreen while resting on a couple of towels to enjoy the heat in the middle of Mexico City.

Unable to contain her laughter, the young woman did not understand the foreigners’ taste for sunbathing in the middle of the park, since this is not a common action.

However, dozens of users who saw the young woman’s video began to say that it is just about different customs and they did not have to make fun of it.

“Everyone can use public space as they want as long as it does not affect others, right?” ”Call the police”; “In Europe it is customary to do that in parks”, among others.

On the other hand, dozens of people also criticized the actions of the foreigners by pointing out that it is not about the beach.

“The coolest”; “If it is not the beach”; “The beautiful asphalt beach”; “The UV index”; “Acapulco on the roof”; “I already feel like I am in the first world”, among others.

About Parque México

Parque México, located in the Hipódromo Condesa neighborhood of Mexico City, is one of the most emblematic green spaces in the capital. Opened in 1927, this park is located in the heart of a neighborhood known for its art deco architectural style and its vibrant cultural life.

The park, officially called Parque General San Martín, stands out for its landscape design with wide paths, ponds and a great variety of flora. It is a meeting point for residents and visitors, who enjoy outdoor activities, walks and contact with nature in the middle of the city.

One of its main attractions is the Fuente de los Cántaros, a work by the sculptor José María Fernández Urbina, and its open-air forum, known as the Lindbergh Open Air Theater, a space used for cultural events. In addition, it is common to see runners, cyclists and families with pets, since the park is pet friendly.

Its privileged location, along with its facilities and peaceful atmosphere, make it a key place for recreation and an example of the contrast between modernity and the historical spaces of Mexico City.
