On February 17, the socialization process began to restart the parking meter program only in the polygon of the Historic Center of Puebla, which covers 16 to 17 Oriente-Poniente, as well as Paseo Bravo to Parque de Analco, where the spaces have already been delimited.
This process will help motorists to become familiar with rotating parking again.
According to the project announced by the city government, there will be nine thousand 400 parking spaces, but now they will be enabled in Carmen, Huexotitla, Chulavista, Volcanes, Avenida Juárez and Barrio de Santiago, which will operate gradually because it has to be socialized more with the inhabitants.
Since it is a free service, motorists have to register in the first 15 minutes and may occupy a parking space for only 3 hours.
During this process, drivers faced some complications in the morning when registering, since when registering their car in the Parkimovil application they did not receive a notification. However, they considered that despite being a project that promotes order in the first square of the city, it is necessary to have more information on how the other polygons will work.
“It’s fine, that type of method (parking meters) that they are going to implement, is an advantage that we are not going to pay for anymore because it saves us money and, apart from the three hours, it will make there be a better flow of vehicles in a parking space on the public road,” shared Mr. Raul.
He regretted that there was no person from the city council to support him and he could register his car, and he also considered that the 4 hours that they will allow him to park is “very little” because they will have to spend twice when looking for a parking space.
“Now there are very few hours because those of us who work in the Center need at least six hours and we have to be coming and going to move the car and find another place, but further away and it can be more complicated,” said driver Alfredo Peralta.
The parking system will operate during the hours of Monday to Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. and on Saturdays and Sundays, from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
