There is no permit for change of land use in El Zapote; offering land there is a crime, warns ‘Felifer’ Macías

The mayor of Querétaro, Felipe Fernando Macías Olvera, stated that no permit has been granted for a change of land use in the El Zapote area and warned that offering land in that place is a crime.

“Not at all, and in fact we even warned a few weeks ago, that whoever dares to offer real estate operations in areas of El Zapote and in all these areas of the city is a crime. So, rather, it is a call to people not to fall for fraud, to tell them that this is a crime,” he indicated.

Macías Olvera called on citizens not to fall for real estate fraud, since the land in that area is used for ecological and agricultural conservation, so it cannot be used for urban development.

The mayor stressed that his administration maintains permanent communication with activists and environmental associations for the protection of natural areas and ratified his commitment not to authorize changes in land use from non-urbanizable to urbanizable.

He also said that the municipality is working on expanding protected areas, with new conservation declarations in the El Tlacuache Ecological Reserve and another area near Milenio.
