Sinaloa Prosecutor’s Office agent is murdered in front of his son and partner in Mazatlán

An agent of the State Attorney General’s Office (FGE) of Sinaloa was murdered on the afternoon of February 18 in front of his wife and son in the municipality of Mazatlán.

According to the first reports, the attack occurred around 2:00 p.m. in a Bodega Aurrera store, located on Avenida Manuel G. Clouthier, number 4456, in the El Conchi neighborhood.

At the time of the attack, the agent was accompanied by his partner and his son, according to information obtained by Infobae Mexico.

The body of the agent, who was allegedly called Román, was left next to a dark gray Denali truck, which had gunshot wounds on some of the windows of the unit.

The reports indicate that the customers who were making a purchase in the store at the time of the attack, took shelter inside it.

The Attorney General’s Office of the State of Sinaloa reported that the victim was an active member of the Investigative Police, assigned to the General Inspection of Detentions in Flagrancy, who at the time of the events was on his day off.

Sinaloa continues in a wave of violence that has hit the state since September 9, 2024. Yesterday, two violent events were recorded in the east and south of the Sinaloa capital, which left two people dead.

The Sinaloa Prosecutor’s Office indicated that on Monday, February, ten investigation files were registered for the crime of intentional homicide, due to the location of twelve dead people.

In Culiacán, the people were located in the following locations: one on the La Costerita South Bypass; two on the Culiacán-El Dorado highway; one on Isla Musala; Another was found at the junction of the Culiacán-El Dorado highway with the town of El Quemadito; two in the Plutarco Elías Calles neighborhood; one more who died after receiving medical attention at the Ángeles Hospital, due to events that occurred in the Ruíz Cortínez neighborhood; and another who lost her life after being treated at the General Hospital, as a result of events that occurred on February 16 in the 10 de Mayo neighborhood.

In Angostura, a lifeless person was found in a clandestine grave in the community of La Colorada. In Guasave, another person was located inside a drain in the town of El Burrión. Finally, in Mazatlán, a person was found in the municipality of Villa Unión.

In the Specialized Vehicle Theft Unit of the Central Region, 21 complaints were registered on February 17 for the crime of vehicle theft.

In the Specialized Prosecutor’s Office for Forced Disappearance of Persons, a complaint was registered in the Municipality of Culiacán, for the crime of deprivation of personal liberty.
