On March 1, the municipality of Jerez, Zacatecas, will host the First 5K Lions Race for Diabetes 2025, a sporting event with a cause that seeks to raise awareness about the importance of preventing and controlling this disease. The start will take place in front of the Municipal Presidency starting at 8:00 a.m.
The competition is organized by the Jerez López Velarde Lions Club and will have the following categories:
Women’s 5K
Men’s 5K
Children’s
1 kilometer Recreational Walk
Registration costs:
Women’s and Men’s 5K: $200 pesos until February 27; starting February 28 the cost will be $250 pesos.
Children’s Category: $50 pesos.
1K Walk: $50 pesos.
Awards:
The first three places in the 5K category will receive cash prizes. In the Children’s category, the winners will receive surprise prizes. Participants in the 1K Walk will receive recognition.

Free glucose test.
Runner’s number.
Commemorative medal.
Event photos.
Recovery kit (fruit and hydration).
The first 100 registered in the 5K category will receive an official event t-shirt.
